Foxygen are back! Their new album ‘Hang’ is out in January

After sharing a mysterious teaser clip for possible new music last month, it looks like Foxygen are properly back. They’ve announced their new album, ‘Hang’, which comes out on January 20th via Jagjaguwar. Looks like that ‘final tour’ of theirs wasn’t so final after all…

Along with Sam France and Jonathan Rado’s album news, Foxygen have also shared a brass-parp laden first preview, ‘Follow the Leader’. As the band put it, “it was a blast to make! It’s a positive anthem, with some lyrical scenarios we don’t quite understand.” Right.

‘Hang’ was self-produced by the band in Los Angeles, and they only went and bloody recruited a 40-plus-piece symphony orchestra, arranger and conductor Trey Pollard, and the added arrangement services of Matthew E. White for the occasion. Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips also features, along with flare-loving The Lemon Twigs.

Foxygen play a sold-out gig at London’s Oslo next week, on 9th November. Watch the video for ‘Follow the Leader’ below.
