Foxygen go behind the scenes in the video for ‘Avalon’

From their videos such as ‘Upon A Hill’, and their performances on the likes of Conan, we know that Foxygen like to get a bit dramatic, but what happens when they step behind the camera?

Well, we’re about to find out. Their new video for ‘Avalon’ is a sprawling eight-minute beast that places Jonathan Rado as a would-be director on his first mission, with bandmate Sam France cast as a world-weary actor dressed in a toga. He’s reluctantly put in front of the camera, where shenanigans ensue, and he looks like he wants absolutely no part of it.

So perhaps that’s why Sam decides that he wants control of the project and takes over duties from Jonathan, who decides to put on his own song and dance routine in his own kind of retaliation. Luckily, they manage to put their differences aside and we’re eventually treated to a slideshow of the pair’s blossoming friendship, and a chorus line. It’s big, bold, bonkers and totally enjoyable for it.
