Fucked Up’s Damian Abraham to chair mayoral debate in Toronto

Fucked Up’s records are only getting more epic and ambitious, but that doesn’t mean frontman Damian Abraham is short of spare time. He’s putting it to good use this September by charing a mayoral debate between political candidates, all aiming to become the next mayor of Toronto.

Abraham is set to open the debate at TIFF Bell Lightbox’s Cinema One, 29th September. Candidates include Olivia Chow, Ari Goldkind and John Tory.

The current acting mayor of Toronto - all-round sound guy Rob Ford - is also invited to participate, but he’s yet to confirm.

Topics include “the role of arts and culture in our city,” hence Abraham’s role in the debate.
