Gems stream standalone new track ‘Scars’
DC duo Gems are streaming a new song ahead of their tour with Hundred Waters.
DC duo Gems were one of 2013’s biggest blog-pop successes, penning hit after hit for online release. After a relatively quiet spell and ahead of a tour with Hundred Waters, they’ve returned with the superb ‘Scars’.
The track sees Lindsay Pitts and Clifford John continuing to explore post-xx landscapes, only this time the beats are more trap-led, with booming synths linking up with an already existing swarm of echoes. It’s distinctly Gems - which is an impressive feat; a band coining their own sound pre-debut album.
Their last EP (‘Medusa’) was self-released in 2013 - no word yet on a debut album. They play the following shows this summer:
JUNE (w/ Hundred Waters)
22 Dallas, TX – Club Dada
23 Austin, TX – Red 7
24 Houston, TX – Fitzgerald’s
25 New Orleans, LA – One Eyed Jacks
26 Tallahassee, FL – The Side Bar Theatre
27 Gainsville, FL – High Dive
28 Orlando, FL – The Social
30 Athens, GA – Georgia Theatre
JULY
01 Atlanta, GA – The Earl
02 Chapel Hill, NC – Local 506
