Curious alt rock newcomers Gengahr have shared ‘Bathed In Light’, a new track that links up with ‘Powder’ in forming the band’s new single, out 27th October on Transgressive.

Like the flipside, ‘Bathed in Light’ brings together a hazy, dream-like quality with something more hard-hitting. Felix Bushe’s lyrics aren’t out there to get noticed, but they’re laced with witty-tongued, snarling lines like opening statement “the smog in your voice makes me vomit.”

Lucid and arresting at once, the song’s final minute falls into Gengahr’s go-to formation, allowing spiralling, effect-drenched guitar lines to saw through the psych.

A debut Gengahr album is tentatively due out in early 2015, says Felix. (“We’ll fit in what we can, and if we have to work every day of the week then we’ll do it. The album’s not far off now.”)

Gengahr play the following dates:

OCTOBER

16 London, Forum (w/ Dry the River)

18 Cardiff, Swn Festival

30 London, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club (Transgressive 10th Birthday)

NOVEMBER

06 Reykjavik, Iceland Airwaves

17 Liverpool, Academy (w/ The Maccabees)
