Girl Band, The Maccabees, Gengahr and Alex G sign up for Cassette Store Day 2015
17th October sees record shops watching the tapes.
The full list of artists participating in Cassette Store Day 2015 has been announced. Taking place 17th October for its third year, it’s headed up by the likes of Gengahr and Girl Band.
The latter will be putting their debut album ‘Holding Hands With Jamie’ to tape. Gengahr’s first work, ‘A Dream Outside’, is also getting involved, alongside Kaiser Chiefs, The Maccabees (with ‘Marks to Prove It’), Alex G and Spector (with ‘Moth Boys’).
Jen Long from Kissability says this about the magic of cassettes: “Cassette tapes aren’t just a format, they’re a culture, and cassette culture is as much about collaboration as doing it yourself. This year we’ve gone even further to try and include as many tape fans around the world. We want as many people as possible to be able to get involved and put out a tape, put on a gig or event, or get hold of that release they really want.”
