Berlin duo Gurr share retro video for the sunny strut of ‘She Says’

Berlin duo Gurr are releasing new EP ‘She Says’ on 5th April, and we’re sharing their new video for its title track as today’s Neu Pick.

The track is a hazy, lilting rock song that has a wonderfully calm aura, and its new video plays into this nostalgic feeling, a home video of sorts, full of tour footage.

“We collected all this footage during our our summer of festivals last year,” the band’s Laura Lee says. “It was a bit of a schizophrenic time as we were always going back and forth between these positive festival vibes to the quietness and reality of home. That is what we were going for in the video.”

The new EP is produced by New York-based Mathew Molner, who worked on Sunflower Bean’s debut LP ‘Human Ceremony’, the driving force behind the new link-up.

“We met Sunflower Bean at Latitude Festival in UK and asked them who produced their album ‘Human Ceremony’ as we liked how it sounded retro and modern, they connected us with Mathew and we brought him to Berlin to record with us,” Andreya Casablanca explains.

“After ‘In My Head’ was recorded all in analogue we definately wanted to have a little bit more room for the production in these songs. We were adding guitars, small synth lines and sounds after laying down the basic tracks.”
