Home Counties confirm details of second album ‘Humdrum’
To mark the occasion, the London six-piece have also shared the LP’s title track.

Having recently returned with comeback single ‘Spain’, Home Counties have now officially announced that they’ll be releasing a new album, ‘Humdrum’, on 24th October via Submarine Cat Records.
The follow-up to their 2024 debut ‘Exactly As It Seems’, this second LP saw the London-based outfit team up with Al Doyle (of Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem) on production duties - an experience the band have said “gave ourselves time to experiment and to refine sounds in a way we had never done on previous releases.” Continuing, they expand: “It also led to a more collaborative approach in the studio, with us performing collectively on the same synthesiser to capture more human performances from electronic instruments.”
As well as confirming details of ‘Humdrum’ (check out its full tracklist down below), Home Counties have also shared the record’s title track - a pacy, propulsive new number that just manages to walk the tightrope of synth-laden chaos. “‘Humdrum’ is about feeling held back by saying the wrong thing in different situations, be it at work or in a social setting,” co-vocalist Will Harrison has explained.
“It recalls cringing as your replay conversations in your head after they’ve happened and the frustration of coming up with better things to say in retrospect. It’s also about being jealous of people who talk shit, say nothing, and still seem to come out on top.”
