Last night London-based duo Honne shared new track ‘Gone are the Days’. Getting its first spin as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1, the song lands ahead of an upcoming seven-song ‘extended EP’. So, like a normal EP, really - just a bit longer.
Smooth and crooning, Andy’s vocals teeter on saucy warbler territory, with a gravelling undertone. Synthetic strings sound over an introduction that wouldn’t sound entirely out of place on Madonna’s 1986 record ‘True Blue,’ and though this is in similar vein to what Honne do already, there’s no question their sound is growing bigger and more chart-ready with every step forward.
The band recently announced a headline show at London’s Brixton Electric, on 3rd March next year. Their new ‘extended EP’ ‘Gone Are The Days (Shimokita Import)’ lands on 22nd January. Listen to ‘Gone are the Days’ below.
