Hookworms unveil ‘On Leaving’ from forthcoming new album
Leeds band keep it distorted on a six-minute monster from ‘The Hum’.
Hookworms are streaming ‘On Leaving’, the second track to be unveiled from new album ‘The Hum’.
The MJ-led Leeds-based force are following up ‘The Impasse’ with a six-minute monster. Beginning by clashing ear-bending guitar notes and distorted organ lines, by the halfway point it morphs into the juggernaut it was always destined to become. Capturing the hysteria of their live shows, by the time it fizzles out on one solitary feedback line, it’s more than left its mark.
‘On Leaving’ is streaming below via some customary magic eye visuals.

“With us having our own studio, it’s not one of those things where we book in for three weeks and know we’re gonna come out of their with a finished album,” MB told DIY. “It’s more of a work in progress really, but at the end of the day, if we have more time to reflect on the songs and listen back to them, we can self-edit, and we end up with better songs.”
Hookworms’ ‘The Hum’ album is out 10th November via Weird World.
