Iceage frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt shares new track as Marching Church
‘King Of Song’ is the latest single from his solo project.
Iceage frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt has shared a new track taken from his Marching Church project.
The new single is taken from the upcoming album ‘This World Is Not Enough’, out 30th March via Sacred Bones Records. ‘King Of Song’ follows the first single ‘Hungry For Love’, lifted from the release back in late January.
Though beginning as a solo-project, Rønnenfelt has enlisted the help of Kristian Emdal and Anton Rothstein (of Lower), Caecilie Trier (of Choir of Young Believers), Bo H. Hansen (of Hand of Dust and Sexdrome) and Frederikke Hoffmeier (of Puce Mary) to expand Marching Church into a separate group.
New single ‘King Of Song’ blends squeaky free-jazz brass instruments with acoustic leanings, as Rønnenfelt sings across the carefree and cheery rhythm with vocals teetering between guttural and whimsical. It’s a far cry from the abrasive sounds of Iceage’s output, though it still retains a proclamatory feeling in Rønnenfelt’s lyrics.
