Is Damon Albarn Working On A New Solo Record?
We’re not sure if the man ever stops making music.

Damon Albarn is back, back again, talking about another new project. The man really is a creative force to be reckoned with.
Having already released ‘Dr Dee’ - an opera entirely dedicated and based upon the life of John Dee - earlier this year, alongside performing with Blur, and starting all sorts of rumours about the future of Gorillaz, obviously the musician is now talking about another musical project.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, Albarn said: ‘This week, we’re mucking around with these Russian synthesizers in a very loose mind of doing some kind of record under my name. I suppose you could call it a solo record, but I don’t like that word. It sounds very lonely - ‘solo’. I don’t really want to be solo in my life. But yeah, I’m making another record.’
The ‘solo’ project would therefore stand as his follow-up to 2003’s ‘Democrazy’.
In other Damon news, Blur apparently aren’t over despite his earlier claims. They will, however, definitely be playing the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on the 12th August.
Blur will also re-release their back catalogue as a special deluxe box set in celebration of the twenty-first anniversary of their debut album ‘Leisure’. The special 21-disc set is due on the 30th July.
