Jack Garratt remixes Sylvan Esso’s alt-pop triumph ‘Hey Mami’

Sylvan Esso’s ‘Hey Mami’ remains a sweet, major-key highlight from their self-titled debut album, which arrived chock-a-block with inventive alt-pop in spades.

Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn share a few similarities with rising producer Jack Garratt. The latter’s sprung on the scene this year with loop-centric pop - albeit more emotional and soul-affected - and they both saw their trade getting praised from the beginning online, blogs fawning over their every move.

Garratt’s music tends to possess a hearty supply of synth twists and bass wobbles, and these are applied for good measure in his edit of ‘Hey Mami’, streaming first on DIY.
