Jack Garratt unveils new track, ‘The Love You’re Given’

Jack Garratt is streaming his new track, ‘The Love You’re Given’, taken from a forthcoming EP.

Currently on tour with Ben Howard, Garratt premiered his latest cut on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show as a Hottest Record.

Using a classical sample (“It’s the first sample I’ve used. It came from a documentary”), delicately backing everything, Garratt’s vocal floats over the piece. Beats chop and change, a falsetto line jostling for space with wobbling bass notes that threaten to steer the whole thing off course. It’s a brilliant fusion of harshness and beauty.

“That song came about very quickly. I’ve been working hard on getting the EP together,” he told Zane. “I’m looking forward to taking a break. I might go to America and just relax, then come back and spend some time with my family.”
