Jamie xx plays hour-long Beats 1 Radio mix
Along with cuts from his debut album ‘In Colour,’ Jamie xx played songs from The Doors and The War On Drugs.
Over the weekend Jamie xx appeared on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio station, and played an hour-long DJ mix. As well as dropping cuts from his recent debut album ‘In Colour’ the former DIY cover star brought in music from The War on Drugs, Holden, The Persuasians, Deadboy, Apparat, Pedro Aguiar, The Durutti Column, and The Doors.
Following the release of his debut album, Jamie xx has been busy. Besides making mixes for Beats 1, he’s scoring a ballet, Tree of Codes. Oh, and he’s bookie’s favourite to win the Mercury Prize.
It looks like Apple Music has brought in a playback feature, because if you missed Jamie xx’s show, you can now listen back to it here. Read the DIY cover feature with Jamie xx here, and listen to ‘Loud Places’ - featuring his XX bandmate Romy - below.
