Jamie xx streams new Notting Hill Carnival inspired mix
Following the annual West Indian knees-up, the London producer’s combined some of his favourite Carnival-esque influences.
Former DIY cover-star Jamie xx celebrated this Bank Holiday weekend’s Notting Hill Carnival in style, taking to BBC 1Xtra to sit in on DJ Target’s show and debuting an all-new Carnival-inspired mix.
From the producer’s own 2011 remix of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’, through classic ska, rock-steady and reggae such as Toots And The Maytals and more contemporary choices, including Popcaan and The Bug, the mix epitomises the multiculturalism of the annual London shindig. Stream it in full below.
Jamie xx also brought dancefloor madness to Reading Festival this weekend - read our full report of that here, and catch up with DIY’s cover feature with the in-demand producer.
