Joanna Gruesome announce UK tour in support of new album
Cardiff five-piece to play five dates near ‘Peanut Butter’’s release.
Joanna Gruesome have announced a short UK tour in support of their newly announced second album, ‘Peanut Butter’.
The record, which arrives on 11th May, is to be previewed at five nationwide shows, including the band’s largest headline show to date at London’s Scala.
Joanna Gruesome yesterday announced the release of ‘Peanut Butter’ via Fortuna Pop! (UK), Slumberland (US) and Turnstile (ROW), with guitarist and songwriter Owen Williams saying the album “attempts to mock trad masculine rock themes whenever things do get more lucid. But sometimes musically we embrace them by doing embarrassing guitar solos”.
The band also revealed the first new material to be lifted from the record in the form of ‘Last Year’, which is available to stream below. The record is also set to include previously heard tracks ‘Jerome (Liar)’ and ‘Psykick Espionage’.
Speaking of ‘Peanut Butter’ when chatting to DIY at their recent London Power Lunches residency, the band described the record as “representative of us right now”. Read the whole interview here.
