Julian Casablancas covers The Velvet Underground’s ‘Run Run Run’
Strokes frontman pays tribute to his hero, Lou Reed.
Julian Casablancas has delivered a new cover of The Velvet Underground’s ‘Run Run Run’.
The Strokes frontman’s version - streaming below - features on a soundtrack to new HBO series ‘Vinyl’, which comes co-created by Mick Jagger. It stays true to the 1967 original, and it arrives three years after Casablancas paid tribute to the late, great Lou Reed by declaring him “the reason i do everything i do”. Reed is responsible for those daring haircuts, then.He later told NME that Reed was the “reason I started the label, music… I just felt the injustice, of how amazing he was.”
