Julian Casablancas says the Strokes are set to work on new material next January
Band’s frontman is busy with his own Julian Casablancas + The Voidz project.
Julian Casablancas has claimed that The Strokes will begin work on new material as early as January 2015.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music earlier this week, the frontman said: “In January we might meet up and work on some ideas,” when asked about the follow up to 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’.
Earlier this year the band played a handful of show together. “I don’t know if we ever had that good a working friendship foundation and relationship, but now we finally have that,” he claimed. “We’ll always have the creative vibe.”
Casablancas is currently working on his own project with new band The Voidz. Technically his second solo record, the release comes out on 13th October. The band have recently shared two tracks, ‘Human Sadness’ and ‘Where No Eagles Fly’, which arrived alongside a borderline-batshit music video.
