Julian Casablancas + The Voidz perform on ‘Le Grand Journal’

Taking time out from their first-ever European tour, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz appeared on ‘Le Grand Journal’ last night to give French television audiences a frightening taste of their debut album ‘Tyranny’, released earlier this year.

Rattling through the frenzied one-two punch of ‘Where No Eagles Fly’ and ‘Dare I Care’ with characteristic aplomb, Casablancas and company were also interviewed by the show’s panel. Owning up to his limited grasp of the French language before loudly proclaiming (en anglais) that “I really, really, really hate speaking French”, the aloof frontman looked sheepish for the duration of the talk, only really coming to life for a skit that involved comparing a One Direction picture book to ‘gay porn.’

Tonight, the band head to Amsterdam to play the first of four dates that will round off their European tour, finishing up in Copenhagen on Dec 16. Catch the remaining tour dates and their appearance on ‘Le Grand Journal’ below.

DECEMBER
12 Amsterdam, Melkweg Mag
13 Berlin, Postbahnhof
14 Hamburg, Mojo
16 Copenhagen, Vega Main Hall
