Kaiser Chiefs announce huge Temple Newsam Park show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'Employment'

Indie stalwarts Kaiser Chiefs have announced a celebratory hometown show at Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park on 31st May 2025, marking a whole two decades since the release of their beloved debut album ‘Employment’.

The LP originally hit shelves back in March 2005, and has since become the best selling record ever from a Leeds artist (!) thanks to iconic hits including ‘I Predict A Riot’ and ‘Oh My God’.

Now a key part of the city’s rich musical heritage, it’s only right that the band return to their roots to celebrate ‘Employment”s anniversary in style - and, what’s more, they’ll be joined by a stacked bill of support acts too.

Truly flying the flag for the golden era of mid-noughties guitar music, The Cribs, The Coral, Razorlight and We Are Scientists will also be heading to Temple Newsam Park next Spring, while Hastings trio HotWax and Yorkshire outfit Ellur are set to represent the genre’s next generation.

Speaking about the gig, Kaiser Chiefs have commented: “Twenty years since ‘Employment’ and twenty-three years since we last played at Temple Newsam, we are delighted to be back. We are a band that has historically always looked forwards, but after 20 years of people telling us how important ‘Employment’ is to them and how it soundtracked people’s lives, we felt we had to organise a celebration.

“We’ve managed to get a few of our old touring friends to come and celebrate with us and of course everyone is invited.  Come celebrate the 2000’s, ‘Employment’, when Leeds took over the world. See you all in May.”

Tickets are available via presale now, and will go general sale at 9am on Friday 11th October here. In the meantime, you can revisit ‘Employment”s huge opening track ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’ below.
