Kanye West almost narrated Chance The Rapper’s ‘Surf’

The album was at one point set to include “vocal chops” from Yeezus

Chance The Rapper has revealed that Kanye West almost made it onto the lengthy list of guest stars for his recent album ‘Surf’.

In a new interview with The Guardian, the 22 year-old stated that footage of Kanye talking about the themes of the album - a collaboration between Chance and his band The Social Experiment - was almost included as a form of narration across the record.

The Chicago rapper said: “In the final weeks of getting ready to put it out we had vocal chops that we were using from ’Ye talking about some of the themes of the project. Through just thinking about it, it didn’t end up happening that way. Not to say it wouldn’t have been dope as shit!”

A collaboration between the two rappers may still be in the works though, with the possibility spoken about regularly, and after Kanye gave Chance an on-stage shout-out at a Canadian show recently.

‘Surf’ is available to download for free here.
