Killer Mike invited to 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner
Run The Jewels member is also set to give a ‘Race Relations in the U.S.’ lecture in Massachusetts on Friday.
Run The Jewels member Killer Mike has been invited to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, taking place on Saturday 25th April.
As Stereogum reports, the musician will attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as a VIP for The Washington Post, with Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live hosting. Killer Mike will be making an appearance at the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology tomorrow (Friday 24th April), where he is scheduled to give a lecture titled, ‘Race Relations in the U.S.’
The two public appearances follow the recently shared Run The Jewels video ‘Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)’, in which Killer Mike presented a visual to highlight “the future and exhausting existence of a purgatory-like law enforcement system.”
Killer Mike has openly discussed and written about race relations in the country, with reference especially to police brutality in Ferguson last year, via essays, Instagram posts, on stage, and on television. Read and watch more by clicking each link.
