Kim Gordon to drop third solo album ‘PLAY ME’ this Spring
She’s described her new record as “more focused, and maybe more confident.”

Kim Gordon has announced that her next solo album will be entitled ‘PLAY ME’, and will hit shelves on 13th March via Matador Records.
Introducing us to the world of her third LP is new track ‘NOT TODAY’ - a potent, emotionally resonant offering that finds Kim embracing her “other voice” and, as she puts it, “sing in a way I hadn’t sung in a long time”.
‘PLAY ME’ will be the successor to her experimental 2024 outing ‘The Collective’, and promises to expand her horizons to take in the motorik immediacy of krautrock, while lyrically, it finds her both more introspective and status quo-challenging than ever.
Explaining more about her vision for the record (for which she returned to producer Justin Raisen’s (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira, Yves Tumor) studio), Kim has simply said: “We wanted to do it really fast. It’s more focused, and maybe more confident. I always kind of work off of rhythms, and I knew I wanted it to be even more beat-oriented than the last one. Justin really gets my voice and my lyrics and he understands how I work - that came forth even more on this record.”
