Lapsley airs BBC Maida Vale session, including Daniel Bedingfield cover

Last week, XL Recordings-signed newcomer Lapsley visited the BBC Maida Vale studios to perform three tracks.

Alongside ‘Falling Short’, the lead track from her forthcoming debut EP, the now London-based artist took to a convention-flipping cover of Daniel Bedingfield’s seminal ‘00s hit ‘Gotta Get Thru This’.

Instead of replicating Daniel B’s garage cred, Lapsley instead works together a slick, minimal edit of the original.

She also performed ‘Station’, a track that emerged in early 2014.

Lapsley releases the ‘Understudy’ EP on 5th January via XL Recordings.

Tonight (26th November), she plays London ICA with Dornik for an Annie Mac Presents night.
