Laura Marling and Lucy Rose to speak at DICE Girls Music Day
The second edition of the London event features talks by women from across the music industry.

Laura Marling and Lucy Rose are among the speakers at the second edition of DICE Girls Music Day.
Held at London’s Sonos Studios on 23st July, the event aims to inspire young women to get involved in music - either on-stage or behind the scenes. Currently, less than a third of jobs in the music industry are held by women.
DICE’s Music Editor Jen Long says that this event is about taking “positive action” to redress that imbalance. “We ran the first [one] in March and it was such an enthralling and rewarding experience, I can’t wait to do it all again,” she said. “There aren’t enough women headlining festivals, running record labels, or working mixing desks, and complaining on social media won’t fix that.”
Along with Marling and Rose, Metronomy’s Anna Prior will also speak at DICE Girls Music Day. Jamz Supernova from BBC 1XTRA, Naomi Williams of Totem PR, Laura Taylor from Everybody’s, Virgin EMI’s Helen Kennedy and Jamilia Scott of Method Music will also appear.
“It’s a testament to our industry that so many brilliant women have offered up their time to help inspire the next generation,” said Jen Long of the speakers.
