Listen: Elephant Stream New Single, ‘Elusive Youth’

South London pair Elephant have probably been so hard at work on their debut album that youth’s a long lost memory, a flickering of life that occasionally invades their studio sessions. It’s vague, hardly recognisable, but it’s worth it because bloody hell they’ve just finished this first record, and it’s due out later this year.

‘Elusive Youth’ is a new single. It follows on from woozy, hip-shaking number ‘Shapeshifter’, which completely turned Amelia Rivas and Christian Pinchbeck’s retro-pop inside out. As it progresses, it soon stands out as an enthralling song, fitting for well-behaved dance-offs in ‘disco’ haunts from a previous decade.
