Noname releases new track ‘Song 33’
Her new song references the deaths of George Floyd and Toyin Salau.
Unveiling her first new solo material of 2020, Noname has shared powerful new track ‘Song 33’.
Produced by Madlib, the song references the deaths of George Floyd and Toyin Salau, alongside appearing to reference J.Cole’s recently released track which alludes to her, as Noname says: “Wow look at him go / He really ’bout to write about me while the world is in smokes? / When his people in trees, when George was begging for his mother saying he couldn’t breathe / You thought to write about me?”
A stirring new track, she ends the song stating, “This is the new vanguard / I’m the new vanguard”.
