Listen: Savages Stream Debut Album ‘Silence Yourself’ In Full
‘Silence Yourself’ is set to be released on 6th May through Matador Records/ Pop Noire.

If there’s one debut album that has been greeted with huge anticipation in the first half of this year, it’s the first offering from Savages. Now, as its release date draws ever closer, they’ve decided to stream it in full.
‘Silence Yourself’ marks the band’s first full-length and, having been recorded at The Fish Factory with Johnny Hostile and Rodaidh McDonald, you can hear the album in its entirety below.
‘Silence Yourself’ is set to be released on 6th May through Matador Records/ Pop Noire, and comes complete with a statement from the band, as below.
‘SAVAGES is not trying to give you something you didn’t have already, it is calling within yourself something you buried ages ago, it is an attempt to reveal and reconnect your PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL self and give you the urge to experience your life differently, your girlfriends, your husbands, your jobs, your erotic life and the place music occupies in your life. Because we must teach ourselves new ways of POSITIVE MANIPULATIONS, music and words are aiming to strike like lightning, like a punch in the face, a determination to understand the WILL and DESIRES of the self.
This album is to be played loud in the foreground.”
They’ll also be making an appearance at Rough Trade East on 6th May, to celebrate the release of their debut. There’s also a whole host of tour dates in the pipeline, as follows.
