Back in September, not too long after the release of their ace new album ‘Sleep Well Beast’, The National headed to London and teamed up with folk artist Lisa Hannigan to cover Cat Power’s 2003 track ‘Maybe Not’.
Recently, they headed to Spotify Studios in New York to take part in their singles series. As well as playing a version of their own single ‘Carin At The Liquor Store’, they also committed their version of ‘Maybe Not’ to record. It’s a haunting, stripped back version, one that’s underpinned by haunting piano melodies and swooning, melancholic folk elements.
The National were also recently announced for next year’s edition of NOS Alive in Portugal.
