So many details
London newcomer Fine Print debuts new track, ‘Can’t Lie’
Smooth jam is the second track to date to come from the project.
Last month, an identity-free new project called Fine Print skipped the meaningless details and simply shared a debut track, ticking every 2014 box going, without over-egging the zeitgeist-pleasing routine.
‘About You’ was a delicate beast, and follow-up ‘Can’t Lie’ sticks to a similar pattern. “If you treat me like a child, then I’ll behave like one too” runs a smooth falsetto, lifted from Rhye’s most soulful jams. But there’s nothing particularly immature about this track - it sticks rigidly to a milky, gorgeous selection of synths - all that’s missing is a finger click and a seductive hither to a bed of roses.
New material is expected for early 2015.
