Mark Kozelek confirms a new Sun Kil Moon album is on the way
Frontman hopes it will be out before the end of the year.
Mark Kozelek has confirmed that he is writing and recording a new album as Sun Kil Moon. In a Q&A session with Omaha-World Herald, the frontman said he is “halfway through an album,” whilst discussing his achievements in the past year, which included his latest LP ‘Benji’.
The chat with the publication also mentions the album will possibly “be out by fall,” with Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley telling Mark Kozelek that the follow up “needs to be really good,” after the success of ‘Benji’ in a year that has seen Sun Kil Moon’s stock seriously rise.
Towards the end of 2014, Mark Kozelek also released a solo festive album title ‘Mark Kozelek Sings Christmas Carols’ and a 10” record called ‘The Possum’.
