Mastodon Contributing Material To Monsters Inc Prequel Soundtrack

If you look for the dictionary definition of Mastodons, chances are you’ll be faced with the description of a ‘large, proboscidean mammal species’. As it turns out, we’re pretty sure that’s as close to a real life monster as you’re gonna get. So, really, it should be no surprise that the musical equivalent are planning on contributing to the soundtrack of a film about that very subject…

Yes, that’s right. Mastodon are writing and recording some new material, for the brand new Monsters Inc film! Hooray!

The news came when Metal Injection noticed a Facebook status from the band revealing that they’d be contributing to the Monsters University soundtrack.



The prequel film - which sees our protagonists Mike and Sulley enjoying their youth at school, as they learn to become Scarers - is due on the 21st June 2013.

Here’s hoping for a Pixar animated version of the metallers themselves.
