Mastodon get surreal in their ‘Steambreather’ video
It centres around a supernatural cult and things quickly get weird…
After facing off against the Grim Reaper himself in the video for ‘Show Yourself’, Mastodon are back and they’re getting a bit supernatural in their latest clip from recent album ‘Emperor of Sand’.
This time to the tune of ‘Steambreather’ the metal icons have headed to a meeting held by a mysterious cult, led by someone who probably needs to discover the power of deodorant (or perhaps that’s part of the cult’s appeal, who knows). That’s not the weirdest thing though, as soon people’s skin is being pulled from their bodies like elastic and others are sent to a supernatural realm that might be Hell. If Hell was pastel-coloured anyway. That’s pretty much just the tip of the iceberg for how surreal things get too…
Back in June, Mastodon announced that they’d be heading out on a new UK tour in December. They’ll be kicking the round of dates off in Cardiff before heading to Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Manchester. The run will round off at London’s Brixton Academy on 10th December. Tickets are on sale now.
