Mazes Frontman Jack To Release ‘Art Is Cheap’ Project

‘Art Is Cheap’ is available exclusively via Bandcamp.

In the last issue of our magazine, we ran a feature with Jack from Mazes about his new project: writing songs for people at £10 a pop.

Well, now he’s releasing the results as a fifteen song collection titled ‘Art Is Cheap’, available exclusively via Bandcamp (jackcoopermazes.bandcamp.com). You can also stream the featured songs - including ours, titled ‘Boy George Michael Jackson’ - here: artischeap.tumblr.com.

Along with our contribution, tracks include ‘Raf The Wrestler’ (commissioned by FatCat’s Alex Knight for his son, Raf), ‘Lotti’ (a birthday request for a girl of the same name), ‘Lick’ (for a frozen yoghurt shop in Brighton), and ‘When Sleater Kinney Died’ (based on the aforementioned band’s split).

Mazes, meanwhile, are currently busy writing their second album, the follow up to debut ‘A Thousand Heys’. It’s expected to be released next year.
