Menace Beach to celebrate Record Store Day with DIY London show

After queuing up and spending your hard earned cash on all those lovely Record Store Day releases, dear readers, we can understand why you might fancy heading home, curling up with a cuppa and giving your new purchases a first spin.

That’s not what we’ve got lined up for you though: we’ve invited those scuzzy beauts in Menace Beach - whose RSD contribution will appear on the forthcoming Alcopop! Records indie labels compilation - along to play a teeny, tiny show at London’s Old Blue Last to continue the celebrations.

“We’ve had some really good times at the Old Blue Last,” the band’s Ryan Needham told DIY, ahead of their special show this evening, “both playing and watching shows so it’s cool to do one of these DIY shows there.

“Our Record Store Day release feels like a good thing in that it’s part of a compilation curated by Jack from Alcopop! featuring his favourite indie labels and seems to capture that original community spirit thing of Record Store Day.”

The band will be joined by Simmer and Bruising at the East London show, which also happens to be free. Get there early; it’s set to be a busy one.

Menace Beach, Simmer and Brusing play the following:
