Metric’s ‘Synthetica’ Gets UK Release Date
The band’s fifth full length will be released on June 18th in the UK.
A UK release date for Metric’s upcoming fifth full-length has been confirmed.
Earlier this week Emily Haines revealed to Drowned In Sound that their fifth studio release would be available in the US and Canada on the 12th June, with dates varying by a few days for other worldwide releases.
Now a press release confirms a UK release date of June 18th through the band’s own label Metric Music International.
Haines is quoted as envisaging the word ‘Synthetica’ as the name of ‘a particularly resilient skin-job from Blade Runner’. ‘If you imagine a nightmarishly fake version of me as a pop star, that’s her,” she says. ‘And this record was about me saying, I’m going to give more to the music than ever, but there’s no way I’m going to turn into someone like that.’
