Mew showcase new track ‘Water Slides’

The band have revealed another track from their forthcoming album ‘+-‘.

Mew are gearing up to release their new album ‘+-’ next month, and have now revealed another new cut from it.

‘Water Slides’ gets taken from the band’s new album, the follow-up to their 2009 effort ‘No More Stories…’, which is due for release on 27th April. It’s the second track to land from the Danish band, after they previously showcased lead track ‘Satellites’.

“Some of it is a bit rockier than the last one,” the band’s frontman Jonas Bjerre told DIY, of their new album, “but there are also songs that go even further towards a more produced sound, than ‘No More Stories…’ did. We played around with samplers a good deal, recording all kinds of flutes and horns then slowing them down - that sort of thing - more than we’ve done before. Many of the songs on this one are more direct, a little less clouded than they were on the last album.”

Alongside the release of their new record, the band are heading out to play a series of UK and European shows scheduled, as follows.

MAY
17 Glasgow, O2 ABC
19 Manchester, The Ritz
20 London, Roundhouse
22 Paris, Fleche D’or
23 Amsterdam, Melkweg
25 Berlin, Lido
