Bulbous salutation
Morrissey’s book has been nominated for a Bad Sex in Fiction Award
Literary Review’s not too keen on Morrissey’s naughtier prose.
Literary Review, a magazine for people who really like reading about reading, have announced their nominees for their annual ‘Bad Sex In Fiction Award’. Among this year’s hopefuls: Morrissey’s debut novel List Of The LostList Of The Lost.
A few choice excerpts from the novel - which is about a relay team haunted by a demon - crept their way online a couple of months back, including this spectacularly bulbous salutation:
“Eliza and Ezra rolled together into the one giggling snowball of full-figured copulation, screaming and shouting as they playfully bit and pulled at each other in a dangerous and clamorous rollercoaster coil of sexually violent rotation with Eliza’s breasts barrel-rolled across Ezra’s howling mouth and the pained frenzy of his bulbous salutation extenuating his excitement as it smacked its way into every muscle of Eliza’s body except for the otherwise central zone.”
You can sort of see where the Literary Review are coming from. The winner will be announced on December 1st at a swanky London ceremony. Bulbous salutations to all invited.
