Mystery Jets share new details for ‘A Billion Heartbeats’
The band have announced their forthcoming album will now be landing on 3rd April.
Having postponed the release of ‘A Billion Heartbeats’ after singer Blaine Harrison had to undergo emergency surgery, Mystery Jets have now announced that their new album will now be landing on 3rd April.
Sharing new track ‘Petty Drone’ alongside the announcement, the band describe the track as a kind of “psychedelic anger”, inspired by “the Adam Curtis film HyperNormalisation, and the modern phenomenon of surveillance capitalism: ‘Ostracised, de-nationalised, re-categorised… polarised, de-sensitised…’”
Talking to us for our July 2019 issue about the forthcoming record, Blaine said, “I think the last album [‘Curve of the Earth’] had quite a grand palette to it; we wanted to make something that felt like it had a lot of air in it – quite a widescreen, expansive sense of dimension. But I think with this record, even though it was made in quite a similar way, it’s much more direct, much more hard-hitting. The guitars sound like they’re right there in front of you. We wanted to make something that sounded like it was slamming against your ear drums.”
So pop 3rd April in your diaries, pals, and have a listen to Jets’ newbie below!
