New Issue Of DIY Out Now Feat. Class Of 2013: Palma Violets, Peace, AlunaGeorge & More

We also run down our Albums of 2012, and give you a preview of what to expect in 2013!

It’s almost Christmas so it’s probably about time that we gave you your presents, right? Well, as it so happens, we have the perfect one for everyone: the latest issue of DIY, of course! And guess what? It’s only a blooming double issue.

Now, as 2012 draws to a close, you may have noticed we’ve been running through our Albums of the Year on the website. Now that we’re down to our final ten albums, we figured, what better way to introduce you to our ultimate 2012 favourites than by giving you a more in-depth look in the magazine? And along with the big reveal, we’ve also got a look at just which albums our favourite artists happened to love too.

And, along with the great bands and artists of this year, we’re looking ahead and plotting which ones are on track to set 2013 alight. That’s right, this issue sees our Class of 2013 proudly grace the cover, with not one, not two, but three artists (and three different covers!)

Boasting the likes of Palma Violets, Peace and AlunaGeorge, here are, undoubtedly, the most exciting new artists of this moment. We also introduce you to CHVRCHES, FIDLAR, Haim and a whole host of other acts to sink your teeth into over the new year.

But have no fear, we’re not just intent on converting you with new music. We also take a look at what we can expect in 2013 from some our old loves, as we have a chat to Biffy Clyro, Little Boots and Darwin Deez. We pop into Delphic’s home studio and get rather excited about new album possibilities from the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys and Paramore. There’s just so much to look forward to!

Alongside that, we go all the way to LA to discover the new Myspace, we head into Pete Fowler’s art studio and - just for good measure - we get Eddie Argos from Art Brut very drunk and make him review our singles of the year.

So, when you’ve finished your Christmas dinner and you can’t quite be bothered to move from the sofa, have a bit snooze and then get stuck into this issue. After all, 2013 looks to be the most exciting year for music so far, so we all best be prepared.

To have a read online head here, and then be sure to collect all three of our different covers for full festive satisfaction.
