New issue of DIY out now, feat. Jamie xx, Everything Everything, SOAK, Bully & more
DIY is free - pick up a copy in our usual UK stockists or read for free online and via Apple Newsstand.
The new, June 2015 issue of DIY - fronted by one-of-a-kind producer Jamie xx - is out right now, available to read online, physically via our stockists, or on yr iPhone and iPad via Apple Newsstand.
This month’s mag checks in with the 26-year-old producer, real name Jamie Smith, who’s in one of the world’s most adored bands with The xx. At the same time, he’s a go-to voice in the electronic world. Our June 2015 cover feature discovers a producer who’s only just beginning to grasp his position, at a strange in-between that nobody else can get close to.
Also in the new issue of DIY, Everything Everything strike gold on their latest LP and talk about the serious themes that inspired their bold pop output this time round.
Elsewhere, Philadelphia-based duo Girlpool share in-jokes and talk debut album ‘Before The World Was Big’. Another exciting Stateside export is Bully - they meet hype head-on in our lead Neu feature.
Soak goes from skateboarding to taking over the world in a new interview, and The Maccabees tell us everything we need to know about their new record.
We also go in the studio with some of the year’s most hotly-anticipated new records, from Deftones, Girl Band and Destroyer.
Neu gives introductions to LA Priest and Slime, while we deliver verdicts on big new albums from Florence + The Machine, Gengahr, Fucked Up, Kid Wave and Shamir.
Plus Gengahr, FFS (Franz Ferdinand and Sparks), Death Cab For Cutie, Wolf Alice, Rae Morris, Hudson Mohawke, Girl Band, Marmozets, Of Monsters and Men and bloody loads more.
DIY’s June 2015 issue is out now. Pick up a physical copy from our beloved stockists and Dr. Martens stores, or read online for free via Issuu and on yr iPhone / iPad through Apple Newsstand.
