Nicolas Jaar shares ‘The Color of Pomegranates’ soundtrack
New composition is an alternative take to 1969 Soviet film.
Nicolas Jaar has shared an original score to the 1969 Armenian film ‘The Color Of Pomegranates’. Jaar uploaded his alternative soundtrack to the film at the weekend, titling his composition ‘Pomegranates’.
Directed by Sergei Parajanov, the film is a biography about the Armenian poet Sayat Nova, depicting his life “visually and poetically rather than literally”. The entire movie featuring Jaar’s new soundtrack was posted on Other People’s (Jaar’s label) YouTube channel last night.
