Oscar Browne releases new single ‘Cut Me Off’

Released via So Young Records, it follows on from his 2022 debut single, ‘Never Quite Right’.

London-based multi-instrumentalist Oscar Browne has today shared his second single, ‘Cut Me Off’ - an undulating alt-folk track which spotlights rich vocals, intricate strings, and striking emotional sincerity. Produced by Ali Chant (Katy J Pearson, Aldous Harding, Sorry), the release follows Oscar’s slots supporting the likes of Gently Tender and Prima Queen on their recent UK tours,

Explaining his inspirations behind the track, Oscar says: “[it’s about] when someone close to you begins to accuse you of lying and suddenly cuts you out, without giving you any chance to defend/explain yourself. The song focuses on that frustration and loneliness. The lyrics are all the things I wanted to say but were never heard”.

Part of a burgeoning scene of UK folk musicians, Oscar is also a founding member of London collective Broadside Hacks (who recently collaborated with Katy J Pearson on her re-recorded version of ‘Willow’s Song’, and whose alumni include Katy, Gently Tender, and Naima Bock).
