Palma Violets Air Dislike Of The Internet: ‘See Us Live And Judge Us Then’

The band emphasise the need to see bands live.

Palma Violets - one of our Class Of 2013, no less - have aired their dislike of the internet, emphasising the perils of music fans making up their mind on bands from the snippets found there.

Speaking to DIY, vocalist Sam Fryer said: ‘When we write the songs, we write as if we’re going to perform them, our friends are going to jump around to them.’

‘We love the stage,’ bassist Chilli Jesson added. “For us [the band] was always a live thing. We just wanted everyone to come and see us live and judge us then, rather than listening to 30 seconds of our song on the internet. We don’t like the internet.’

Palma Violets recently made their live television debut, performing ‘Best Of Friends’ on Jools Holland. They’ve also announced their debut album: the as-yet-untitled record will be released on 25th February via Rough Trade.
