Palma Violets Reveal Video For ‘Step Up For The Cool Cats’

The London four piece go driving in their car for single numero dos.

The second single from the hotly anticipated Palma Violets’ debut, ‘180’ - named after the studio where they spent their days and nights partying - has been around for long enough now to have wormed its way into your brains and set up home there already. But now it’s making a play for your eyes as well, with the newly released video.

Directed by former-member-of-The-Jesus-And-Mary-Chain-turned-filmaker, Douglas Hart, who’s previously directed videos for the likes of The Horrors, The Libertines, The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, the video sees the band driving around in their car, interspersed with some pretty live footage.

Fully fledged members of ‘DIY’s Class Of 2013’, Palma Violets may have only formed last year, but they’ve already been on the ‘BBC Sound Of’ long list, toured with Savages and label mates Alabama Shakes, and are currently completing a quick North American tour.

The band, who recently announced five UK shows for March, have finished recording their new record with Pulp’s Steve Mackey and Rory Attwell.

The ’180’ tracklisting is:

1. Best of Friends
2. Step Up for the Cool Cats
3. All the Garden Birds
4. Rattlesnake Highway
5. Chicken Dippers
6. Last of the Summer Wine
7. Tom the Drum
8. Johnny Bagga’ Donuts
9. We Found Love
