Paramore Plagiarism Lawsuit Dropped
The band were accused of copyright infringement over their single ‘The Only Exception’.

Paramore have announced, via a post on their blog, that a lawsuit accusing them of plagiarising their single ‘The Only Exception’ has been dropped.
A band called Tenspoke Indies claimed the track used portions of one of their own, ‘Starlighter’, and tried to sue the band for copyright infringement ‘including but not limited to, similarities in the introductions, arrangements, the chord progression, the key, the melody, the lyrical theme, the rhythm and tempo of both songs.’
Paramore explain: ‘We’d like to let Paramore fans know that yesterday the frivolous lawsuit claiming Paramore plagiarized another band’s work regarding ‘The Only Exception’ was officially dropped. There was never a doubt in our minds that the case would go any further, as this song, which Paramore wrote every note of, is very personal to them and one they are extremely proud of.’
