Hayley Williams shares new solo track ‘Mirtazapine’ on Nashville radio station
The Paramore vocalist exclusively premiered her brand new solo single on local public station WNXP Nashville last night.
Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has returned with a brand new solo track, which was premiered last night (Wednesday 23rd July) on public radio station WNXP Nashville.
The single, titled ‘Mirtazapine’, is a scuzzy delight of a track, channelling the fuzzed-out, lackadaisical energy of ’90s grunge, with a poppy through-line. It marks the Nashville native’s first solo release since her 2020 debut full-length ‘Petals For Armor’ and its 2021 follow-up ‘Flowers For Vases / descansos’.
The track was played last night following an Instagram Story from Hayley which linked to WNXP’s drive for support after US Congress recently passed a bill to defund public media. For more information on their current situation, head to their Instagram page, or to donate directly, head to wnxp.org/donate.
While ‘Mirtazapine’ has been shared by fans via social media after its on-air play, it’s yet to be released onto streaming platforms. It does, however, appear to have some artwork, that reads ‘*Mirtazapine* + Glum / Long live public radio’. What ‘Glum’ is referring to is still a bit of a mystery - but watch this space to find out more.
