Looking ahead
Paul Smith says next Maximo Park album “is on the distant horizon”
In a new interview with the frontman, he says there are “six songs” the band have started work on.
The next Maximo Park album “is on the distant horizon”, the band’s frontman Paul Smith has said in a recent interview.
Speaking to Digital Spy ahead of the release of his new solo album ‘Contradictions’, Smith has said the band have already got “six songs or something that we’ve started working on”, when he anticipates could be included in the follow-up to the band’s 2014 album ‘Too Much Information’.
“We started writing together a few weeks ago,” he told Digital Spy. “I think there’s like, six songs or something that we’ve started working on, and maybe three of them might be really good. Then, you start thinking, ‘OK, well, they came about in a few weeks, so maybe we can write a few more really good ones and eventually get a record together next year’.”
Maximo Park already have a busy few months ahead of them either way: the band will be heading out on their ‘A Certain Trigger’ tenth anniversary tour this November and December. Their forthcoming tour dates are as follows.

17 London, Roundhouse
18 Manchester, Albert Hall
19 Newcastle, City Hall
20 Glasgow, Barrowlands
DECEMBER
