Peace’s ‘Happy People’ set for top five spot in UK albums chart

Official Charts places the Birmingham band’s second LP at #4 in the midweeks.

Midweek figures have been released for the Official Singles and Albums Charts, with Birmingham band Peace heading towards their first top five finish with second album ‘Happy People’.

The follow-up to ‘In Love’ is battling it out with George Ezra and Ed Sheeran in the top five - Sam Smith’s been given a post-Grammys boost, climbing to the #1 spot, with Kodaline’s ‘Coming Up For Air’ being the highest placed new entry at #2.

Other new entries arrive from Father John Misty (#14), The Unthanks (#17) and The Subways (#19). Grammy album of the year winner Beck went back into the top 40 at #37 with ‘Morning Phase’.

In the Official Singles Chart, DJ Fresh ft. Ella Eyre’s ‘Gravity’ is the highest new entry at #2. Charli XCX ft. Rita Ora’s ‘Doing It’ collaboration is at #7, while Imagine Dragons are down in #22 with ‘I Bet My Life’.
